Energy in Equity Summit
IMPACT
BGS served as an advisor to National Grid in developing and running a half-day roundtable discussion on equity in energy. BGS served to bring community voices and perspectives during both the planning and the execution of the event and facilitated the involvement of Environmental Justice groups. On March 13th, we convened over 50 attendees representing community-based organizations, investor-owned utilities, clean energy businesses, post-secondary education, labor, and government. The roundtable discussions focused on identifying priority challenges and generating tangible actions that could be implemented by utilities in the areas of workforce development and hiring, economic opportunity and growth, and affordability, access and resilience in the clean energy transition. We will now be working with National Grid to identify summit successes, areas for improvement, and opportunities for action, and to deliver commitments and action plans by utilities to drive equity in the energy transition.
